A scenario for our play is about a girl named Jessica who is an only child and is raised by a single parent, which is her father. Her mom left when she was born, so Jessica has never had a mother figure in her life. She struggles throughout the play growing up without a mom. This idea especially comes out when she is at an all girl’s summer camp and the last week is a mom’s weekend. All the other girls have their moms their and Jessica has her dad. She becomes angry with herself and the idea that only her dad raises her. Jessica thinks that she is different from everyone else since they have a mom. She constantly asks herself if something is wrong with her, since her mom left her; was she not good enough?
